From 8:30 to 11:30 pm, it was Eraserheads Euphoria.

1.  Magasin
2.  Walang Nagbago
3.  Maling Akala
4.  Maskara
5.  Poorman’s Grave
6.  Waiting For The Bus
7.  Wag Mo Nang Itanong
8.  Slo Mo
9.  Alkohol
10.  Insomya
11.  Torpedo
(intermission)
12.  Julie Tearjerky
13.  Tikman
14.  Wishing Wells
15.  Fine Time
16.  Pare Ko
17.  Kailan
18.  Back2Me
19.  Trip To Jerusalem
20.  Spoliarium
21.  Overdrive
(fake ending)
22.  Superproxy
23.  Minsan
24.  Alapaap
25.  Kaleidoscope World
26.  Ang Huling El Bimbo
(end)
27. Ligaya
28.  Sembreak
29.  Toyang

That’s 29 songs from the country’s best band ever.

I enjoyed Marcus’ rendition of Wag Mo Nang Itanong.  I loved that Raymund sang some of his songs.  Buddy even sang two lines of Fine Time.   You could see and feel that they themseves were having a good time.  🙂  As to be expected, Superproxy was dedicated to FrancisM, and the band even played the chorus of Kaleidoscope World, while footages of The Man From Manila were shown on screen.  By the end of the concert, Ely quipped, “Eto na ang Huling El Bimbo nyo”, while everyone sang the MTV-awarded song, confetti rained on the 5K audience, and fireworks fell on the 300-peso audience.  😉  The much requested “group hug” happened (sort of) in the end, as the whole band held each other while they bowed for the very last time.

You should have been there.

After dropping out of Grand Prix Manila, Beej and I went off to The Fort to watch the much-awaited Eraserheads Reunion concert. 🙂

After braving the horrendous traffic at C-5, and the excruciating search for a parking slot at Bonifacio High Street, we finally arrived at the concert venue. And it was all worth it. 🙂 Here is the set list:

1. Alapaap
2. Ligaya
3. Sembreak
4. Hey, Jay
5. Harana
6. Fruitcake
7. Toyang
8. Kama Supra
9. Kailan
10. Huwag Kang Matakot
11. Kaliwete
12. With A Smile
13. Shake Yer Head
14. Huwag Mo Nang Itanong
15. Lightyears

Then, you probably already know what happened.

But in case you live in a cave in the mountains or something… they went on a 20-minute break/intermission after that (which was apparently planned/scheduled, contrary to popular belief). Then after around 30 minutes, Raymund, Buddy and Marcus, along with Ely’s sister Lally came out to announce that the concert was going to be cut short due to Ely’s health condition. He apparently experienced chest pains and had to be rushed to the hospital. Everyone went on a 1-minute silent prayer for his recovery.

According to the concert producers, there was actually supposed to be 15 more songs to be played in the second half. Just a wild guess, but I think this might be the other half:

1. Overdrive
2. Ang Huling El Bimbo
3. Hard To Believe
4. Magasin
5. Superproxy
6. Tikman
7. Tindahan ni Aling Nena
8. Minsan
9. Julie Tearjerky
10. Maling Akala
11. Para Sa Masa
12. Shirley
13. Spoliarium
14. Torpedo

and of course…
15. Pare Ko

Pero ika nga, tang ina, shit happens. Good thing Ely is apparently now in stable condition, and able to live another day.

Edit: Apparently, the second part of the concert DID push through in Saguijo:
