We want to document the trip as much as we can. Unfortunately, Benj’s memory doesn’t serve him well.
So, I’ll try my best to remember as much as I can…
The food.
- Mangosteen cake – Benj’s know I would love to have a taste. But it seems that the cake of the month was non-existent.
- Penong’s – Chicken inasal and pork barbeque at it’s cheapest, and their not compromising the taste, mind you. Plus rice all you can, who would ask for more?
- Whistle Top @ The Venue – Nice resto, a bit pricey though. But we had fun reading the items in the menu – Elvis Presley Steak and Marlyn Monroe’s Legs. Hehe.
- Ranchero’s Grill – Grilled Lemon Butter Prawns, Grilled Tuna Belly, and Sinagang na Baboy… Yummmmy! need I say more?
- Pomelo, durian and marang – To Benj, the marang tasted better than the durian. Maybe because it’s not in season. But to me neither, I can’t stand the smell. I’ll just have all the pomelo.
- Passion Fruit – It is really a fruit.
And the fruit juice, sarap! Pero Benj’s doesn’t like it. He had to order his own Coke because he really can’t take the taste. - Italian burger steak – It was the “best seller” at the restaurant outside the PEC. Well, it looked and tasted as it sounded – a big hamburger pattie topped with Italian-style tomato sauce with egg cooked sunny side up. Gud.
The places.
- Philippine Eagle Center – One hour from the city is not that bad. The PEC was worth the travel, the P50 entrance fee, and the experience.
- Malagos Garden Resort – I’m sure our trip would be much better if we had come in May where the flowers were all in bloom.
- Aldevinco Shopping Center – Pearls, bags, shirts, pearls, magnets, ref magnets, batik bags, pearls, T’boli woven in about anything, native bags, pearls.
- Waterfront’s driveway – Flowers all over, gives you a feel of being in a Koreanovela.
- Swimming is discouraged. – This is the sign Waterfront had near the beach. Why? Ambot.
I wish I didn’t forget any. Looking forward to going back to Davao. Still lots of places to go to.
