Summer @ Villa Escudero May 5, 2009

Second summer outing for this year is at Villa Escudero with WBC. Rodel was the designated driver (Thanks, Odj!). Rache and Venus were the designated photographers. Teret, Rose and the Bs were well, just there to enjoy. Hehe!
The villa did not change a bit since I last went there around 15 years ago. Food was delish, place was nice and well kept, and their museum was interesting. On the way home, an unplanned stop at Kusina Salud (one of the destinations in Viaje Del Sol) in San Pablo was made. We had a sumptuous dinner of Ensaladang Pako, Seafood Kare-kare, Carabao Meat with Coconut, and Sinampalukang Chicken Hainanese, and dessert was Sansrival and Turon (although turon at Sonya’s Garden is better).
More pictures here.
Next stop: Tagaytay?
Btw, it didn’t really seemed like summer because it was raining the whole day.

We had a simple celebration at Italianni’s, enjoying the new york cheese cake. Happy, happy.

Two weekends of gimik, here’s what happened.
1. Semi-Pro
We’re definitely not missing Will Ferrell’s Semi-Pro, so we went to Trinoma to catch it before movie listings change the following Wednesday. With the usual Sunday traffic, Benj arrived just in time for the screening. As expected it was a Will-Ferrell-hilarious movie.
Aftewards, we played a bit in TimeZone, had early dinner and went home to beat the traffic. Played a couple of games, MTG of course, then called it a day. Nice, relaxing weekend.
2. Bowling with WBC peeps.
No, not World Boxing Council, but WHO Breakfast Club. Joining Jerome in his every-other-Friday-bowling, Benj and Rodel played a game, whilst Rose, Teret, and me cheered in the background (finishing off the prizes, hehe). We missed Ms. Workaholic, Rache, though.
Dinner was at Jack’s Loft in Midtown with Rodel making kulit ‘Day.
(A little on the food: pasta & sandwich were good, but Death By Chocolate disappointed me.
) All in all, it was a fun night. Can’t wait for next week.

Updates, updates, updates…
Was at a week long training of Oracle Tutor 11i’s Author and Publisher. I hope the training and software will be all worth the trouble. Anyway, enough about the work stuffs. Despite being busy at work, Benj and I still managed to squeeze in our movie fix.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Watched this film after Issie’s baptism at Trinoma. We originally planned to watch a movie with Cors but she already saw the film. Cors ended up going shopping for her Taiwan trip instead. So, the film, it was nice. I actually enjoyed it.
Dinner at Five Cows followed after.
27 Dresses. Nice, funny. But nothing to rave about.

Good Luck Chuck. Funnier and better. Cute penguins. But I like dolphins and orcas better.

Juno. Watched it a home. I just got curious after I saw an episode of Tyra.

Jumper. It was just kewl at first. Then it gained momentum. Then, blah. By the way, thanks to Rose, Teret and Rache for the movie tickets!

Spotted, Beej watching Gossip Girl.
First read about this in Chuvaness. I just tried it because there are no more TV series because of the strike. I was running low on shows to download and I have to maximize my broadband subscription. Hehe. After the Pilot. I got hooked! Now, its one episode a night and I’m on episode 7.
You know you love me… Xoxo.

I was still high from my FNM & PR when Beej and I went out last Sunday to make the long-planned and awaited “re-visit” to the Azcunas.
We had this:
1. International food (naks, kala mo kung ano no?) — Filipino (nilagang baka), Mexican (beef tacos), Japanese (sushi & maki) & Italian (pizza), plus what seemed like a bottomless supply of chips and drinks.
And this:
2. International games (hehe, kunwari lang) — Scene It: Friends, Guesstures, Taboo and Cranium. We even had a couple of other games in hand — Scene It: Movies, Scrabble, Clue, and a bunch of other games in Jerome’s van.
It was girls vs. boys. And as expected, winner ang girls (nagsama ba naman sina Rache & Rose on a Friends trivia game… saan ka pa?). At winner si Wing (Star Performer!), with his “Bloom” and “Insomnia” performances. Haha!
Sana maulit.
