Summer @ Villa Escudero May 5, 2009

Second summer outing for this year is at Villa Escudero with WBC. Rodel was the designated driver (Thanks, Odj!). Rache and Venus were the designated photographers. Teret, Rose and the Bs were well, just there to enjoy. Hehe!
The villa did not change a bit since I last went there around 15 years ago. Food was delish, place was nice and well kept, and their museum was interesting. On the way home, an unplanned stop at Kusina Salud (one of the destinations in Viaje Del Sol) in San Pablo was made. We had a sumptuous dinner of Ensaladang Pako, Seafood Kare-kare, Carabao Meat with Coconut, and Sinampalukang Chicken Hainanese, and dessert was Sansrival and Turon (although turon at Sonya’s Garden is better).

Btw, it didn’t really seemed like summer because it was raining the whole day.

“Tagaytay City, Cavite” February 8, 2009.
The Bs and the Larins went to One Tagaytay Place. This is where we stayed for the weekend. It is a new hotel that was still on soft opening. The place was nice and the staffs were courteous. We had brunch at Manos Greek Tavern. Yummy Greek dishes! We loved the moussaka (and the baked macaroni that tasted like moussaka. Hehe.).

Chapel on the Hill – Anne and Jogo’s wedding. It was a very nice and solemn ceremony. Except for Issie’s noise in the background. 
I was the candle sponsor. I’m sorry Anne and Jogo that I missed the march, good thing we arrived just in time for the lighting of the candle. Benj was driving like crazy to get us there on time.
Sonya’s Garden – wedding reception. It was a lovely and cozy place. We were served a delicious meal but we loved the turon best. And we had fun during the square dance.

Original plan was to pass by Ilog Maria before going home. Too bad it was closed during Mondays. This lead us to the alternate plan of passing by Mamplasan. We had lunch at the slow Fastaurant. ‘Nuf said.

Sporting Warehouse. We passed by with hopes of finding big discounts on rubber shoes and other stuffs. We were lucky enough to get a couple of shirts, not too lucky for nice pairs though.
We got to go to 3 provinces in 2 days and I had a nice weekend with Benj and my friends.

Weekend Gimiks April 19, 2008

Two weekends of gimik, here’s what happened.
1. Semi-Pro
We’re definitely not missing Will Ferrell’s Semi-Pro, so we went to Trinoma to catch it before movie listings change the following Wednesday. With the usual Sunday traffic, Benj arrived just in time for the screening. As expected it was a Will-Ferrell-hilarious movie. Aftewards, we played a bit in TimeZone, had early dinner and went home to beat the traffic. Played a couple of games, MTG of course, then called it a day. Nice, relaxing weekend.
2. Bowling with WBC peeps.
No, not World Boxing Council, but WHO Breakfast Club. Joining Jerome in his every-other-Friday-bowling, Benj and Rodel played a game, whilst Rose, Teret, and me cheered in the background (finishing off the prizes, hehe). We missed Ms. Workaholic, Rache, though. Dinner was at Jack’s Loft in Midtown with Rodel making kulit ‘Day. (A little on the food: pasta & sandwich were good, but Death By Chocolate disappointed me. ) All in all, it was a fun night. Can’t wait for next week.
Holy Week March 23, 2008

It’s Easter already! The week went by so fast because I was busy.
Holy Wednesday – Preps for the Pabasa. Everyone had something to do. Cooking, fixing the altar, buying flowers, etc. I made the dessert (hehe, proud) – leche flan. Then the reading started at 7pm and went on all night.
Maundy Thursday – Still reading… and people started coming. By 1130am, our place was full – family, close relatives, distant relatives and friends. People took turns in reading while others were enjoying lunch c/o Ambet. (For your catering needs, contact me. ) Of course, Benj came and Dionne, Joven and Issie too. Good Friday – We just stayed at home, playing MWS though.
Black Saturday – Benj and I went to the doctor. And, his GERD is back. Then we watched Over Her Dead Body, tried to buy Crocs Alice but didn’t have my size again, played MTG at home, and called it a day.
Easter Sunday – Taking some R&R at home before going back to reality tomorrow.
