I was still high from my FNM & PR when Beej and I went out last Sunday to make the long-planned and awaited “re-visit” to the Azcunas.
We had this:
1. International food (naks, kala mo kung ano no?) — Filipino (nilagang baka), Mexican (beef tacos), Japanese (sushi & maki) & Italian (pizza), plus what seemed like a bottomless supply of chips and drinks.
And this:
2. International games (hehe, kunwari lang) — Scene It: Friends, Guesstures, Taboo and Cranium. We even had a couple of other games in hand — Scene It: Movies, Scrabble, Clue, and a bunch of other games in Jerome’s van.
It was girls vs. boys. And as expected, winner ang girls (nagsama ba naman sina Rache & Rose on a Friends trivia game… saan ka pa?). At winner si Wing (Star Performer!), with his “Bloom” and “Insomnia” performances. Haha!
Sana maulit.
We don’t blog anymore September 17, 2007

Ok lang, wala namang nagbabasa eh. Hehe. Pretty sure that made you smile. Yes, all three of you who read this post.
And I know I haven’t done anything related to blogging for the past month because wordpress isn’t even in my browser’s recent history anymore, hehehe.
Seriously, it’s not really the lack of things/events to blog, but the opposite — it’s just been one hell of a month, filled with ups (finally getting “fixed” in the office, getting a one-year extension on “the car problem”, etc.) and downs (stuff… nuninu…), just like everyone else’s rollercoaster ride in life.
Here and there, we sprinkle it with dashes of movies (Blades of Glory, Deep Sea 3D, Bourne Ultimatum, Chuck and Larry, etc.), TV shows (Prison Break, How I Met, etc.), and occasional meet-ups with friends (Haze’s return, Mem’s baby, Rache’s birthday, weekends at the Larins — more on this later, etc.).
But one thing that really made its mark this past month, was Magic. There’s no denying that I’m addicted once again to the game that caused my only 4.0 in college. This time though, there’s no cause for panic there… I think I’m holding up just fine at work, though it might be taking a hit at something else — my wallet (nuninu…). Since buying this, I’ve also bought a Time Spiral booster box; I’ve attended my first DCI-sanctioned tournament, Grand Prix Bangkok Trial I (Time Spiral Block Sealed Deck Format), where I placed 40th among 60 players (hehe); and I’ve been frequenting NG forums, Galleria, and even the Morales-Larin residence (hehe) on weekends to trade, buy, and sell cards.
Once I’ve completed my Pickles deck, I plan to join FNM’s, and of course, the Lorwyn pre-release at the end of the month.
Beej has gotten better in the game as well. Our “casual decks” evolved from the original mono-green/mono-white decks I bought from John, to a red-green aggro, to its current state — a pauper RDW (red deck wins) deck. She’s currently at a level, where, given the right set of cards, and a little bit of luck, she can even beat me unscratched.
My re-introduction to Magic has really been, um, refreshing. It has already taken over one previous addiction — Wii — I can only wonder how this will affect my “other” addiction — TV show downloads — which is set to begin in about two weeks time…
