Yes, it wasn’t until December 24 when I felt the Christmas spirit. Don’t ask why unless you want to hear me rant all day long.

Dec. 24
I was finally able to watch a movie again. Benj and I watched AVATAR in IMAX. This movie is highly recommended and best watched in 3D. Winner! :) We went to mass after the movie and tried our darnest to stay awake and finish the mass. Now, I remember why we don’t hear mass at our parish. We wrapped a couple more gifts after the mass, then it was time… Happy birthday, Bro!

Dec. 25
I woke up early because I will be spending Christmas in Cavite. Christmas day was spent the typical way – gift giving, lotsa food and drinks, and most especially the stories. It was a bit different though because we were the primary topic. It was all about our wedding plans and trying to get as many sponsors as possible. Hehe. The day ended light and happy.

Time to end the madness… June 1, 2009

Murtaugh List April 2, 2009

murtaughI was watching How I Met Your Mother yesterday, and as usual, they have come up with another interesting idea — The Murtaugh List.

The Murtaugh List is based on a character in the Lethal Weapon series,  Sgt. Roger Murtaugh (played by Danny Glover), who has this iconic line in the movie — “I’m too old for this shit”.  So, in a nutshell, the list is about things that you are too old for.

It got me thinking… what sort of things are in MY Murtaugh list?  Hmm.  Let me see…

1.  Pull an all nighter. — I need 5 hours of sleep (no more, no less) to function properly the next day.

2.  Drink gin, and not vomit. — Well, technically, I was never able to drink gin without vomitting, so I guess this doesn’t really count.  ;-)

3.  Listen to emo. — I just don’t get it.  Perhaps, I AM old.  ;-)

4.  Eat nothing but “college food” for a whole day. — Stuff like instant noodles, chips, cookies, etc.  I need rice.  I need bread.  I need pasta.

5.  Play video games nonstop all day and all night. — I used to do this all the time.  I remember getting my PS2 in mid-December a couple of years ago, and it was my sole objective in life to finish Metal Gear Solid 2 before Christmas.  And I did it.  ;-)   Now, I could barely finish a level in Resident Evil, without taking a break to eat or go to the bathroom.

6.  Do complex computations in my head.  — Again, another thing that I used to do all the time.  Yeah, I’m a geek.  Now, I’m just too dependent on the calculator.  ;-)

7.  Drink more than a cup of coffee a day.  — This one is really sad.  Unfortunately, even drinking 1 cup of coffee is bad for me.  But hell, sometimes, I give in anyway.  ;-)

I’ll update this post each time I think of other things, but in the meantime, let me ask… what’s on YOUR Murtaugh List?

From 8:30 to 11:30 pm, it was Eraserheads Euphoria.

1.  Magasin
2.  Walang Nagbago
3.  Maling Akala
4.  Maskara
5.  Poorman’s Grave
6.  Waiting For The Bus
7.  Wag Mo Nang Itanong
8.  Slo Mo
9.  Alkohol
10.  Insomya
11.  Torpedo
(intermission)
12.  Julie Tearjerky
13.  Tikman
14.  Wishing Wells
15.  Fine Time
16.  Pare Ko
17.  Kailan
18.  Back2Me
19.  Trip To Jerusalem
20.  Spoliarium
21.  Overdrive
(fake ending)
22.  Superproxy
23.  Minsan
24.  Alapaap
25.  Kaleidoscope World
26.  Ang Huling El Bimbo
(end)
27. Ligaya
28.  Sembreak
29.  Toyang

That’s 29 songs from the country’s best band ever.

I enjoyed Marcus’ rendition of Wag Mo Nang Itanong.  I loved that Raymund sang some of his songs.  Buddy even sang two lines of Fine Time.   You could see and feel that they themseves were having a good time.  :)   As to be expected, Superproxy was dedicated to FrancisM, and the band even played the chorus of Kaleidoscope World, while footages of The Man From Manila were shown on screen.  By the end of the concert, Ely quipped, “Eto na ang Huling El Bimbo nyo”, while everyone sang the MTV-awarded song, confetti rained on the 5K audience, and fireworks fell on the 300-peso audience.  ;-)   The much requested “group hug” happened (sort of) in the end, as the whole band held each other while they bowed for the very last time.

You should have been there.
