Things We Learned At The Travel Expo March 4, 2010

Two weekends ago, we went to the Philippine travel expo. It wasn’t as successful as we hoped it to be but learned a couple of things.
1. Come prepared. Know where you want to go. It would be easier to look for a good deal if you have at least a shortlist of the places you want to go.
2. Research, research, research. Once you already have a shortlist, search for the hotels to be considered. Gather the feedback you need from the net or from friends.
3. Set a budget. With a lot of packages and promos offered, it would be best to have a budget in mind already.
4. Dont’ be afraid to ask. Ask the agent if anything is unclear, and be mindful of the hidden charges.
Because we didn’t do all these, we weren’t able to book our honeymoon package. Good thing our wedding is during the off peak, we really don’t need to worry about package rates going up. By next year’s travel expo, we will be prepared and book the travel destination we want.

After the expo, we went to the UN Olympics is Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. We watched the swimming events and the championship game for basketball. Awarding was held immediately after the games with WHO being the overall champion.
